What is a Practice Chanter? The Chanter is the Flute portion of the pipes where all the fingering and noting is performed. The bagpipe practice chanter is a stand alone chanter that is made to play indoors, and is the tool used by all bagpipers to learn how to play the pipes and practice bagpipe fingering and techniques from beginner through advanced skills. We sell our chanters, too, as chanters for displaying or for playing! Our playing chanters have recessed finger holes so you can feel where your fingers are suppose to be, and come with reeds.
